HH Celebrates Labour Day

This morning, we joined multitudes of our fellow workers across the country in commemorating Labour Day, whose theme was: "Accelerating job creation for economic development."

We congratulated them for the dedication and commitment to duty but called on them to do more if we are to truly uplift our country from economic challenges.

We equally thanked employers across the country for the increased productivity and participation of their members in huge numbers during this year's celebrations.

We are thankful to both the employers and employees through their unions for the relative industrial harmony this far because we believe in resolving challenges in the boardrooms and not in the streets.

It was our message to the workers and investors to seize the opportunities being created through the conducive business environment and create more decent jobs.

We called on our citizens currently accessing the NAPSA partial withdrawals to prudently utilise the resources through meaningful investments. We further called on workers and union leaders to provide feedback on some of our policies for possible further reforms and benefit our citizens.

We reiterated our call to all our workers to partner in stopping wasteful expenditure but instead increase productivity and expand our businesses and the economy for us to realise improved conditions at places of work.

Once more, happy Labour Day fellow community workers.
